E-Landscape was proud to be selected to install the new landscape for the recently renovated Hemingways Restaurant on Kent Island, Maryland. Long known as a destination for great crabcakes and stunning sunsets, Hemingways is famous for its location at the foot of the Bay Bridge overlooking Maryland’s Chesepeake Bay. When the 20 year old restaurant was sold in 2010, the new owners decided to embark upon an ambitious $4 million renovation of the property. The new Hemingways opened in May of 2011.
Our work at Hemingways included hardscape installation (including paver pathways), softscaping, tree planting, sod installation, irrigation, and the construction of rain gardens and stormwater retention systems – a critical feature given Hemingway’s location on the Chesapeake Bay.
