Landscaping of the Elkton Senior Apartments

E-Landscape recently began work on the Elkton Senior Apartments, a 60-unit senior apartment building that will be constructed in Elkton (Cecil County) Maryland. The project is being developed by The Ingerman Group, headquartered in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and the General Contractor is Hamel Builders of Elkridge, Maryland.

This full scope, ground-up project will be coming together in the next 6 to 8 weeks and is an excellent representation of the spectrum of capabilities that E-Landscape can bring to bear on a project. From drainage work, hardscaping, and irrigation, to the installation of a green roof and green screens, our team has the skills required to seemlessly execute to the required specifications and within the project timetable.

We have begun our portion of the project by tying in the gutter downspouts to an 8″ mainline around the perimeter of the building in order to stay erosion. After that, we will begin working on the 1,200 square foot permeable paver patio behind the building. The paving material is a clay brick paver which will be laid over a 12″ base of graded aggregate. Special lugs on the sides of the pavers create voids for surface water to percolate into the aggregate base material and eventually into the soil below, which reduces surface runoff.

Other “green” measures on the project include a “green screen” trellis and “green roof” which we have the opportunity to install for Hamel Builders. In addition we will be topsoiling lawn areas, installing irrigation and finishing the job with landscape plantings. Please stay posted for progress pictures!
