E-Landscape Provides Hardscaping for Crown Farm Development in Gaithersburg
This winter, our crews are busy putting some finishing touches on the development at Crown Farm in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Crown Farm is a new, 182-acre, multi-use, urban-inspired neighborhood located on about 88 acres of land between Sam Eig Highway and the future Decoverly Drive extension. The community will include four distinct neighborhoods, six parks, shopping, restaurants, a grocery store, fitness club, swimming pool and clubhouse.
There are 6 distinct areas planned for development on the property:
- Downtown Crown, which will serve as the commercial core of the community.
- Crown West, residential neighborhood.
- Crown East, residential neighborhood.
- Crown Central, residential/mixed use neighborhood.
- “Neighborhood 4”, unnamed and home of community park.
- “Neighborhood 6”, unnamed and home of a future high school.
The historic England-Crown farmhouse (the original property on the grounds) is being preserved and will be sold as a private residence. The farm’s historic silos and corn crib will be preserved as features of City Park. Currently, construction is underway in Downtown Crown and Crown West. Crown East and Crown Central will be built in future phases. When the project is completed, a large village green will host community events from musical performances to farmers markets. Crown is expected to celebrate its grand opening in the Spring of 2014.
Sunbrook Partners Inc., the master developer of Crown Farm, is working with JBG Rosenfeld Retail and Bozzuto to bring the project to life. E-Landscape’s scope of work includes the installation of site concrete, concrete retaining walls, and pavers.
The grand opening of Crown Farm is set for Spring of 2014.
