Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaping specialist E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions announced today that it has been awarded the contract to provide design‐build landscaping services for Rainier Manor apartment homes in, Mt. Rainier Maryland. Rainier Manor apartment homes offer an affordable rental community to active, independent senior adults with a neighborhood‐like setting. There are a wide range of community features which include handsomely landscaped grounds, walking paths, picnic areas, and a gazebo. The management firm for Rainier Manor is Humphrey Management. E‐Landscape’s scope of work for this project includes landscape design, planting, and the installation of paver patios and structural retaining walls. Currently, E‐Landscape is in the second phase of this three phase project. “With this project at Rainier Manor, we can really showcase the full range of commercial landscaping services that E‐Landscape can provide, from landscape design through installation,” remarked Eric Drenner, President of E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions.

Davidsonville, MD October 5, 2011 – Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaping specialist E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions announced today that it has been awarded the contract to carry out landscaping at The Asher in Alexandria, Virginia. This luxury apartment community is a combination of old and new that reflects the charm of Alexandria’s Old Town and the area’s dynamic metropolitan lifestyle. Located right next to the Braddock Road Metro station, The Asher will welcome residents with its deluxe living spaces. The Asher will feature 206 apartment residences, a state of the art business and fitness center, rooftop terraces, a landscaped plaza and underground parking, all within steps of a Metro stop. The energy‐efficient appliances that The Asher has to offer, along with an extensive water‐saving system, an advanced waste management system, and other features will help its residents save money and preserve natural resources. The building was designed by Lessard Urban and developed by Erkiletian. E‐landscape’s scope of work will include the installation of site furnishings, planting, structural soil mixes, irrigation, sub drainage, and the construction of a bus stop. One of the most interesting aspects of the project is the cistern system that will be installed to channel rainwater. The cistern tank and pump will be located in the building’s underground garage, enabling the property to harvest rainwater and use it for irrigation. This will reduce residents’ water bills, and – by reducing runoff – will lessen the load on the wastewater treatment system. “We’re particularly excited about this project because it is expected to receive LEED Silver certification due to its many green building and design features,” commented E‐Landscape President Eric Drenner.

Davidsonville, MD October 1, 2011 – Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaping specialist E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions announced today that it has been awarded the contract to carry out landscaping work at Poppleton Place Apartments in Baltimore, Maryland. Poppleton Place is a 123‐unit property located in the Poppleton neighborhood of Baltimore, MD. The community serves families at or below 60% of the area’s median income. This project will provide renovations to an existing row home community. The Poppleton Place project is managed by The Hampstead Companies, a developer specializing in the affordable housing and community development segments. E‐landscape’s scope of work includes streetscaping, the installation of playground equipment, and turf and landscape renovation.

Davidsonville, MD September 19, 2011 – Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaping specialist E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions announced today that it has completed work on the Vida Senior Residences on Missouri Avenue in Washington, DC. Located in a neighborhood with green areas and significant historic sites, the affordable (50% Area Median Income) independent‐living senior (55+) apartment building will have five levels featuring 36 new, fully‐furnished, multifamily units designed with seniors in mind. A rooftop terrace will house Vida’s community garden, and a private shuttle will assist residents with their transportation needs. The building was designed by Zavos Architecture and Design and is being developed by Dantes Partners. General Contractor Hamel Builders began construction on the project in August 2010, and the community center should be fully operational by October 1, 2011. E‐Landscape’s scope of work includes the installation of 2,300 ft2 of pervious pavers. “Vida Senior Residences is an excellent addition to E‐Landscape’s expanding portfolio of commercial landscaping work in the senior living market,” commented E‐Landscape President Eric Drenner. “This project is also significant because it will contribute to the building’s energy efficiency through the use of pavers with a low solar reflective index (SRI) value. “

Davidsonville, MD September 9, 2011 – Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaping company E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions announced today that it has been awarded the contract to install a healing garden on the rooftop of the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Working with Prospect Waterproofing, E‐Landscape completed the plant installation for the new Healing Garden, which is designed to give patients at the National Naval Medical Center a serene space to relax during their rehabilitation. This project was part of an upgrade to an existing terrace space at the Center. Due to the height of the rooftop, plant materials and equipment had to be lifted by a crane and put into place. In addition, specimin trees such as Harry Lauder’s Walking, Weeping White Pine, and Weeping Norway Spruce were sourced to replace sentimental plantings in place in the prior garden. “We at E‐Landscape are very proud to have played a part in this project at the National Naval Medical Center,” explained E‐Landscape President Eric Drenner. “It is a privilege to create a space in which the people who have served our country can heal in peace.”

Davidsonville, MD September 1, 2011 – Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaping specialist E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions announced today that it has completed work on a design‐build project at the Johnson Towers Senior Living Community in Washington, DC. Johnson Towers is an independent living community that includes housing for those who are 55 or older, home ownership in retirement communities, and senior apartment rentals. Johnson Towers provides safe and easy‐maintenance living for seniors who can still live independently, and enjoy engaging in social activities with other seniors. E‐Landscape’s scope of work included the construction of a modular retaining wall, installation of pavement walkways and patios, construction of a trellis structure, drainage, installation of site furnishings and plantings.

Green building practices have garnered quite a bit of attention recently as architects, developers and property owners seek to gain LEED certification for their buildings. Green roofs are simply rooftops covered in vegetation growing atop a waterproof membrane. Green roofs can help to lower the heating and cooling costs for a building. Additional environmental benefits include reducing storm water runoff and improving air quality in the area surrounding a building. Elkton Senior Apartments is a 60 unit senior living facility. E‐Landscape selected the Live Roof brand hybrid green roof system. The Live Roof system is designed for easy installation, with modular planting beds that interlock to form a seamless roofing system. The Live Roof kits come complete with established plant material at least 1 inch high, vastly increasing the likelihood that the plants will survive and thrive in their new environment.

Davidsonville, MD August 24, 2011 – Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaping specialist E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions announced today that it has been awarded the contract to install landscaping at Victory Oaks in Silver Spring, Maryland. Victory Oaks is a senior living complex on the grounds of St. Camillus Church. The property includes a three‐story, 49 unit complex and is funded by a $6.4 million Section 202 Capital Advance Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, awarded to one affordable senior housing project in the Washington, DC area each year. This complex has a number of community amenities including a fitness center and an outdoor patio area. The building was designed by Grimm and Parker Architects, and construction work is being undertaken by Hamel Builders.
