Eastport Yacht Club Selects E-Landscape for Clubhouse Renovation Landscaping
Davidsonville, MD October 15, 2012 – Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaping firm E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions has been selected to install the landscape for Eastport Yacht Club’s new clubhouse building. The Eastport Yacht Club project is a gut renovation and expansion of an existing Yacht Club in Eastport (a waterfront neighborhood in Annapolis, Maryland) that is known for its racing commitment and volunteerism within the boating community. When the Eastport Yacht Club began building a permanent clubhouse in 1989, it only had 200 members. As a result, the facility that was constructed at 317 First Street in Eastport was of modest size. Since then, the Club has steadily grown to 600 voting members. Space in the upstairs bar and dining rooms was becoming more cramped by the year while the kitchen facility was not nearly large enough to handle the volume of food service required. In addition, the club has greatly expanded its mission and now hosts numerous major regattas while also offering an instructional program for youth sailors. Eastport Yacht Club leaders first discussed a major renovation about a decade ago and took the first step toward raising the funds required to meet that goal in 2007. EYC leaders finally decided to move forward with the project and the old clubhouse was torn down in February, 2012. Construction on a sparkling new clubhouse that will be almost twice the size was initiated about a month later by Brown Contracting, and the new 8,000‐square foot clubhouse, which is being built on the basic footprint of the old one, is scheduled to open this fall. Now that the project is nearing completion, E‐Landscape has been selected to install the landscaping and lawns for the finished clubhouse.

Davidsonville, MD September 20, 2012 – Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaping specialist E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions is partnering with Richard Sweeney Landscape Architecture to participate in the global event PARK(ing) Day in downtown Annapolis. PARK(ing) Day is an annual worldwide event where artists, designers and citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary public parks. E-Landscape to Install Anchorplex Retaining Wally System at Victory Court Senior Housing Development
Davidsonville, MD September 14, 2012 – E‐Landscape is excited to once again team with Hamel Builders to provide landscaping for a new senior living facility in Rockville, Maryland. Victory Court is a new, mixed income apartment community for seniors 62 and over located between Monroe Street and Maryland Avenue in Rockville Town Center. The three‐story complex with stone and brick townhouse‐style architecture is designed to fit in with the neighborhood of historic homes near Rockville’s government center and downtown. Developed by Victory Housing Inc., the nonprofit development arm of the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, Victory Court’s public areas include a walkout terrace and patio in a partially enclosed courtyard with a gazebo. E‐Landscape’s scope of work for the project includes the construction of an Anchorplex retaining wall system. The Anchorplex retaining wall system offers a unique, nonconventional solution to problematic wall construction sites. It is a retaining wall built with Anchor™ products and self‐compacting structural backfill specified by Anchor Wall Systems. When used in combination with blocks of the appropriate shape, the structural backfill attaches itself to the wall facing, effectively extending the depth and increasing the mass of the facing. In addition to reinforcing the block facing, the structural backfill zone also serves as the required drainage zone. Using the Anchorplex retaining wall system completely eliminates the need for the construction of a mechanically stabilized earth zone behind the wall facing and requires substantially less excavation than is usually necessary in grid‐reinforced wall construction. Construction on Victory Court is expected to be complete by mid‐summer 2013.
