E-Landscape Awarded Contract to Provide Commercial Landscaping for Justice Park Apartments in Washington, DC
Davidsonville, MD January 15, 2014 – Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaper E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions announced that it has been awarded a contract to provide commercial landscaping services for a new residential development in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC. Construction is currently underway for Justice Park, a new five‐story, 28‐unit apartment building at 1421 Euclid St, NW. The development sits on a 12,325‐square‐foot plot of land that previously was the site of Justice Park. The building has been developed for the hard‐of‐hearing and deaf community who fall within the low‐ income household designation of between 50 to 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI)—about $45,000 to $55,000 per year. The development will have 8 studio apartments, 16 one‐bedrooms, 4 two‐ bedrooms, covered parking, a fitness area, and bike racks as well as a landscaped courtyard. “Justice Park will be a wonderful enhancement to the Columbia Heights neighborhood, but it also provides much‐needed affordable living options for Washington, DC’s deaf and hard of hearing community,” commented E‐Landscape President Eric Drenner. “We’re excited to be a part of such a unique project and are looking forward to making Justice Park a welcoming home for its new residents.” The city awarded the $11.5 million project to a group including Dantes Partners in July 2011. Grimm + Parker Architects designed the project, Dickinson and Partners is the hard‐of‐hearing design consultant, and Hamel Builders is doing the construction. The building permit was received in June 2013, and Dantes Partners plans to deliver the completed building in May/June 2014. E‐Landscape’s scope of work includes the installation of lightweight soil, landscape plantings and site furnishings.
E-Landscape Provides Hardscaping for Crown Farm Development in Gaithersburg
Davidsonville, MD December 16, 2013 – Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaper E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions announced that it has been selected to install hardscaping for Crown Farm, a new, 182‐acre, multi‐use, urban‐inspired neighborhood located on about 88 acres of land between Sam Eig Highway and the future Decoverly Drive extension in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The community will include four distinct neighborhoods, six parks, shopping, restaurants, a grocery store, fitness club, swimming pool and clubhouse. “Crown Farm is a significant new development for the City of Gaithersburg and we are excited to be a part of this important project,” commented E‐Landscape President Eric Drenner. “The concrete and pavers we are installing are part of the finishing touches that will make a grand opening this spring possible, and I’m looking forward to seeing the ribbon cut and this project come to life.” The historic England‐Crown farmhouse (the original property on the grounds) is being preserved and will be sold as a private residence. The farm’s historic silos and corn crib will be preserved as features of City Park. Currently, construction is underway in Downtown Crown and Crown West. Crown East and Crown Central will be built in future phases. When the project is completed, a large village green will host community events from musical performances to farmers markets. Crown is expected to celebrate its grand opening in the spring of 2014. Sunbrook Partners Inc., the master developer of Crown Farm, is working with JBG Rosenfeld Retail and Bozzuto to bring the project to life. E‐Landscape’s scope of work includes the installation of site concrete, concrete retaining walls, and pavers. The grand opening of Crown Farm is set for Spring of 2014.
E-Landscape Selected to Install Landscaping for Monsenor Romero Apartments in Washington, DC
Davidsonville, MD August 28, 2013 – Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscaper E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions announced that it has been selected to install the landscaping for the new, $19 million Monsenor Romero Apartment project located at 3145 Mount Pleasant Street in Northwest Washington, DC. The development replaces the previous Deauville apartment building that was destroyed by fire in 2008, the most destructive fire in 30 years in Washington, D.C. The building is named in honor of the assassinated El Salvadorian Catholic Church Bishop who was a champion of the poor and spoke out against poverty and social injustice. “We’ve really made a commitment to doing work in the affordable housing sector,” explained E‐ Landscape President Eric Drenner. “This project at Monsenor Romero is a great addition to our portfolio and a fantastic opportunity for us to team again with Hamel Builders on a Wiencek + Associates project.” The 58,000‐square‐foot project involves the substantial rehabilitation of 31 apartments in the south wing. Thirty‐two apartments are being constructed in the former north wing of the building behind the facade, the only portion remaining after the fire. Forty‐seven of the 63 homes will be available at lower rental rates to former residents who were displaced by the fire. Four apartments are designated to become homes for the physically disabled. The project will meet Enterprise Green Communities Criteria, the nation’s first framework for greening affordable housing, as required by the District of Columbia. The general contractor for the project is Hamel Builders and Wiencek + Associates are the architects. E‐ Landscape is responsible for installing the lawns, landscape, decorative stone, brick paving, segmental retaining walls, greenscreens, and site furnishings. Monsenor Romero Apartments is the latest in a long list of affordable housing projects for which E‐ Landscape has provided landscape installation services. Other recent projects have included Gateway Village, Wheeler Terrace, the House of Lebanon, Arlington Mills Residences, Richmond Hill Manor, The Avenue (Park Morton), Dahlgreen Courts, The SeVerna, Poppleton Place, and Buchanan Gardens, to name a few.

Owned by National Church Residences, Gateway Village is an independent living community providing safe and easy‐maintenance living for seniors who can still live independently, and enjoy engaging in social activities with other seniors. The original Gateway Village apartment building was constructed in 1985 and is now undergoing a comprehensive, tenant‐in‐place renovation led by Hamel Builders. Landscaping Creates Serene Environment at New Hospice of the Chesapeake Campus in Pasadena, Maryland

Recently, Hospice of the Chesapeake had the opportunity, as a result of an anonymous donation of $2.3 million, to expand its area presence with the addition of a new campus located at 90 Ritchie Highway in Pasadena. When it opens, the new campus will include buildings housing the administrative offices, an educational conference center, grief counseling, crisis intervention and a host of other programs. The new, 6.2 acre, wooded campus is nearly complete, and E‐Landscape is proud to have been selected to complete landscape installation work that will contribute to making the campus a place of peace for families at a difficult time in their lives. Landscape Installation for New Royal Farms Stores to be Carried Out by E-Landscape
Davidsonville, MD February 2, 2013 – Davidsonville, Maryland commercial landscape firm E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions has been selected to provide landscape and lawn installation services for two new Royal Farms stores in Eldersburg and Bel Air, Maryland. The Eldersburg Royal Farms fills the empty gap left by the demolished Korner Karry Out and Milt’s Liquor Store, vacant for more than 10 years. The site plan includes a 5,125‐square‐foot building and 16 gas pumps and will bring 35 to 40 job openings to Eldersburg. The Bel Air location is at 2201 Jack Lane, at the intersection of MD Route 543 and U.S. Route 1. Carraway Homes Selects E-Landscape for New Spa Gate Project in Annapolis
Davidsonville, MD December 17, 2012 – Carraway Homes has selected Davidsonville, Maryland‐based commercial landscape firm E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions to install the landscape for its new Spa Gate project in Annapolis. Spa Gate is a 19 lot, finished townhouse community on Spa Road. Hamel Builders Selects E-Landscape for House of Lebanon Project
Davidsonville, MD November 17, 2012 – Maryland‐based Mid Atlantic general contractor Hamel Builders has selected E‐Landscape Specialty Solutions to provide commercial landscaping services for the House of Lebanon in Washington, DC. House of Lebanon is an adaptive reuse project involving redevelopment of The Margaret Murray Washington Career High School (MM Washington), a historic school building located in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington DC. Built in 1912, the school is part of a cluster of African American schools constructed around the same time as middle class African American families, who were restricted from living in other sections of the city by restrictive covenants, moved into the neighborhood in the late nineteenth century. In 2009, MM Washington was closed and deemed surplus property by the District of Columbia Public Schools. As a result, the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development issued a competitive bid for redevelopment of the property, and ultimately awarded the contract to Mission First Housing Development Corporation and its partners, Mt. Lebanon CDC and Urban Matters LLC. The House of Lebanon project will preserve the historic integrity of the MM Washington building while bringing much needed affordable housing and community space to a transforming neighborhood. The project, which was designed by Cunningham Quill Architects, features 82 units of affordable senior housing and 12,000 square feet of community space, and will comply with Enterprise Green Communities criteria. E‐Landscape’s scope of work includes landscape installation, pavers, and structural soil. “The House of Lebanon project is a fantastic addition to our growing portfolio of affordable housing work,” commented E‐Landscape President Eric Drenner. “It is also another opportunity for us to team with Hamel Builders, a company with which we’ve developed a strong partnership.”
