Landscape Installation for the Victory Oaks Senior Living Facility
As summer winds down, our crews are gearing up to spend time in Silver Spring, Maryland installing landscaping for the Victory Oaks senior living complex. Once again, we’re teaming with Hamel Builders for this project with the goal of completing the landscaping in time for a projected 2012 move-in date.
Victory Oaks is located on the grounds of St. Camillus Church in Silver Spring and will be developed, maintained and staffed by Victory Housing, the nonprofit housing development arm of the Archdiocese of Washington. Victory Housing builds, acquires and renovates apartment complexes in desirable Maryland and Washington, D.C. locations for seniors earning below 60% of the local median household income.
The three-story, 49-unit Victory Oaks building is funded by a $6.4 million Section 202 Capital Advance Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, awarded to one affordable senior housing project in the Washington, D.C., area each year. This particular facility, designed by Grimm and Parker Architects, has a number of community amenities including a fitness center and outdoor patio area.
