Landscaping for Justice Park Apartments in Washington, DC
This winter and spring, E-Landscape is busy providing commercial landscaping services for a new residential development in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC. Construction is currently underway for Justice Park, a new five-story, 28-unit apartment building at 1421 Euclid St, NW. The development sits on a 12,325-square-foot plot of land that previously was the site of Justice Park. The building has been developed for the hard-of-hearing and deaf community who fall within the low-income household designation of between 50 to 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI)—about $45,000 to $55,000 per year. The development will have 8 studio apartments, 16 one-bedrooms, 4 two-bedrooms, covered parking, a fitness area, and bike racks as well as a landscaped courtyard.
The city awarded the $11.5 million project to a group including Dantes Partners in July 2011. Grimm + Parker Architects designed the project, Dickinson and Partners is the hard-of-hearing design consultant, and Hamel Builders is doing the construction. The building permit was received in June 2013, and Dantes Partners plans to deliver the completed building in May/June 2014.
E-Landscape’s scope of work includes the installation of lightweight soil, landscape plantings and site furnishings.
